Manifesto
We took the same gravity that makes social media work — and pointed it at genuine self-improvement.

A place to show up, share what you're working on, and meet people on the same path. No streaks, no leaderboards, no popularity contest — just a feed of people quietly doing the thing.

— David Denny, founder
How it works

Three nouns. That's the whole product.

A goal you own. A post tied to that goal. A circle as the optional audience. Memorize these and you've memorized Strive.

01

Set a bounded goal.

Three ways to be done: by count (read 52 books), by duration (yoga for 30 days), or by declaration (finish my novel). Every goal has an end.

02

Post a check-in.

Each post is a check-in on a goal. Photo, text, or both. Posting moves your progress forward. The goal stays yours.

Vocabulary

We changed the words on purpose.

The vocabulary of social media is built for attention. Strive uses different words because we're building a different gravity.

Applauds
not likes

A round of applause from your circle. One per post per person. No leaderboards, no public counts when you don't want them.

Circles
not groups

Public or private spaces built around a shared anchor — Morning Movers, First Pull-up, Adult Pianists. Make one private for a tight crew, or join a public one to find your people.

Bounded goals
not streaks

Every goal has an end. By count, by duration, or by declaration. When it ends, we celebrate. Then you start the next one.

“No streaks. No punishment.” — a promise, not a feature.

What it does

Set a goal. Show up.
Finish. Start the next.

Four moments. Every Strive user moves through these in a loop — and the product is shaped entirely around them.

A check-in, not a performance.

A path that fills as you show up.

Every check-in advances your journey. Days completed bloom along the trail. The goal is right there in front of you, not buried in a streak counter.

The story
A letter from the founder

I started building Strive after noticing I'd set big goals and lose momentum over time.

Around the same time, I deleted my old social media. What stood out — aside from the time it gave back — was realizing how much I'd tied my identity to being seen online.

Without it, I noticed how often I'd compare myself to strangers without meaning to. I caught myself doing things partly so I could post about them, instead of being in the moment.

Strive is what I wish I'd had then: the same gravity that makes social media work, pointed at genuine self-improvement and real community.

It's about making it easier to come back and start again — and connecting with people on the same path, no matter where you're starting from.
